Oh yeh. Italian country roads are a white knuckle hoot. You should try the roads on Elba. They seem like they were designed by a 3yr old with a crayon and if you drive off any of the narrow roads you get to enjoy a nice drop into the sea!

You sound like you speak from experience 😄 I was in Sicily once and the people there like to race through the corners as if it’s an one way road (when it’s not). To make sure they don’t crash into anyone, they honk their horn before every corner. I wasn’t convinced that’s safe…

Ha! Yes it's the same on Elba. Buncha Maniacs! Good thing driving in New Jersey prepared me for that.

OMG white knuckle hoot describes it well.I feel the stress that’s on all your faces in the car and how you managed to turn around with a sheer drop next to you....>I am impressed! I’m off to Crete soon and this really gets me in the mood😳🙈and the word potholes gets a whole new meaning...

Yes, it was SO stressful, but this kind of thing also gives off the best vacation vibe, doesn’t it?

Absolutely! Those heart in your mouth moments to laugh about afterwards but terrifying at the time. Or green kids in the back having to make an emergency stop too many hairpin bends. More please! thoroughly enjoying your trip and the photos complement your graphic story!

Hi Betje! Sorry it's taken me so long to comment, but your comics are hysterical! You really get the point across and I LOVE the way you draw cars and trucks and tractors...LOL. Loving the real live pictures as well. I've never been to Europe (a long way from Los Angeles) so I'll live vicariously thru your comics...Your youngest son is a hoot! He comes up with the funniest things... and by the way I put in my name for the wait list for your new book.
