I had the same experience as your bike incident, just walking to get onto an escalator, a lady tried to cut me off on the inside and when we bumped she was really mad! My daughter and I had to stifle our giggles till we got off and were far enough away, what a bummer to be so angry about things that don't matter!

I loved this about Americans (or at least in L.A.), they tend to say 'sorry' even if it's their fault. When it comes to these insignificant things, it makes live so much easier.

a couple friends used to ride at lunchtime. One day they were passing two slow elderly riders on a straight path that ran along a ditch.

A guy was coming towards them, and saw them from afar as the first rider was passing the slow riders. But seems like he didnt wanted to affect his strava time and pressed on trying to play chicken

Well, my friend, the second rider was already boosting behind the first one to clear the path asap. But because the incoming dude pressed on, he was almost clearing the slow riders and couldn’t do anything but break. So the incoming rider hit him squared straight, bounced and fell into the ditch.

My buddy looks like Herman Monster, he had a small scratch on his bike. The other dude needed stitches…

LOL. Yes, in Portland they add a backhanded compliment to the insult as they pass your bike.
