Will miss you but it’s absolutely the right thing to do. Find new inspiration when you’re not looking > live life and it’ll come to you. Good luck on the journey. And Yes to The Best of Betje! Xx

I'll still be here! I had my first, very inspiring conversation and hope to make that into a comic soon :)

Don't feel bad about changing topics or focus. As a fellow cartoonist, I totally understand your need for a new direction. Every artist and cartoonist has to do this in order to keep their interest in making art and refresh the well of inspiration. I think you'll find that documenting other's stories will push you in ways that will make your work even better.

As for your previous work, I suggest you put together a best of collection and then shop it around to a decent publisher. Your work is just as great as Lynda Barry's or Lynn Johnston's and just as marketable.

You are too kind!! I've been shopping my memoir around for a while now and it's such a frustrating process. I might want to skip that this time. On the other hand, it wouldn't hurt to shoot some emails around and not expect anything I guess...

💗I think every comic, no matter the subject, reveals a piece of you! Journal comics make you feel closer. These other types of comics may bring you closer!💞 Enjoy the journey! ~CYa

Even better than a „Best Of“ would be an „All of it“ 😅

I would love that! But I think we’d be looking at roughly 2000 pages… 😳

Heel herkenbaar. Ik kreeg wat lucht toen iemand tegen mij zei dat het net het echte leven is. :)

En toen ik daar over nadacht. kon ik me daar wel in vinden. Als jij dat ook kan: Enjoy the proces.

Liefs, B
