Hey friends,

It’s been a while! Some unexpected things happened that resulted in me writing this from my room in Cape Town, South Africa. I was invited by the Climate Centre, to be part of an innovation retreat, working on new ways to engage people in conversations around climate change and humanitarian work. I figured that if I have to take a flight, I better go a bit earlier and see some of the country before I get to work. I got my plane tickets, panicked about being all alone in Cape Town and booked a five day touristy tour with twelve (then) strangers.

I did break my Apple Pencil on the way, so I had to stop drawing. Other than that, it was amazing and I learned a lot. Like, how it’s important to respect the local wildlife.

This elephant put some branches on it’s head.

I laughed…

Clearly that pissed him off. I didn’t get to see that elephant up close again. Rightfully so, I guess.
