Wind, rain, plants and birds.
When we moved from LA to the Netherlands almost a year ago, I was fully aware that we were downgrading our weather prospects. In the midst of an international move during a global pandemic, this was the least of my worries.
When anybody mentioned it, I was THIS cool about it:
Now I’m reminded, it’s the people who have to deal with that shit every day who care.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very much aware there are worse things and it’s not keeping me awake at night.
So the weather is slightly depressing and the end of the pandemic is not quite in sight but our house has started to look like a luscious garden of Eden… mostly because it’s too cold to move the plants outside.
Ok, enough complaining. Here’s some birds I drew for a client who needed some birds.
It was a very fun and challenging project; they wanted them to look cartoony while still being recognizable. This is a Nuthatch, Spoonbill, Goose and Woodpecker. They all live in the Netherlands, and I’ve seen the Woodpecker a bunch of times on my walks in the woods around here. It always lifts my spirits to see one!
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
