As long as I can remember, my worries about our planet were always somewhere within reach. They were like the tampon that had deserved its place in my bag, but would regularly present itself when I was digging for my keys. Bothersome for sure, but not weighing on me. They certainly didn’t make me want to be an activist.
Certainly not after this small deed of resistance.
I’m trying something new here. I’ve been working on a book about finding my voice as a climate activist. Then I read
‘s post about what she saw in Angoulême and I thought: does it HAVE to be a book? Why don’t I take this outline and use it as a guide for my posts her on Substack and see where that takes us? I’m hoping that this series of posts will be a conversation, so please feel free to comment below!
With love,
This comics rings so true! It reminds me of a substack post I read recent about clamming up in the doctor’s office. Why do we go silent when we need to speak up? I’m looking forward to seeing more.
Nice! I get the idea of sharing it as a series of comics here on Substack, seeing how you feel drawing it, and hearing what readers think. You can look at this as your first draft and edit or redraw pages later if you choose to make a book.
I'm looking forward to the next installment!
