It’s been a while since I shared news about my book. Maybe you thought I dropped it, maybe you aren’t even aware that I’m working on a book.
Well, I’m very much writing a book.
See?
And I have some good news: I found a publisher!
The bad news, for those who are not Dutch: it will be for a Dutch version.
Isn’t it hilarious? I went through all the trouble of writing a book in a language that’s not my own, only to have to translate it to my mother tongue.
The beautiful thing is, that’s what my book is about: how despite all our plans, hopes, dreams and fears, things rarely turn out as we thought it would.
I’m still committed to finding a publisher for the English version. It’s not easy to get published in the United States but I never thought it would be. I will keep harassing reaching out to literary agents and publishers while finishing this book. If you happen to be neighbors with an outstanding literary agent or are on good terms with your ex who works in publishing, please let me know! Again, you never know how a cow catches a hare. (That’s a Dutch expression but I think you get what I’m saying.)
Meanwhile, here’s another snippet of my book.
In English.
Of course.
These pages follow the ones I shared in this post. And yes, I gave myself a hair cut. It’s a long story.
That wraps up the first of 11 chapters! I would love to know that you think. Please let me know in the comments below.
In other news, I’m working on a brand new comic strip. It’s for a Dutch girl’s magazine called Tina. As I’m developing the characters and story, you can follow me along, as a paid subscriber.
I would love to see you there, you can weigh in and see how I work.
As always, hit the reply button or comment below with any thoughts or comments. I love to hear from you!
With love,
I love it already and can’t wait for more.. especially when Peter is unhappy with his work and your move to Los Angeles!
