Two weeks ago I ended the Bokashi Saga with this cliffhanger:
Have you ever bought something online, that turned out much larger or smaller than anticipated? I have. And I will tell you about it in part two of this Bokashi Saga!
This brings me to another question:
Have you ever started a story, only to find out midway that it’s not in the slightest as entertaining as you thought it would be?
Yes, I’m in trouble. Hauling that humongous bag of Bokashi home on my bicycle only to find out it was not the product that I needed seemed funny at the time. It’s not so funny in comic form and even worse when you’ve added two weeks of suspense. Sorry about that.
Here are two comics to make up for it:
Sketch & Chat
In other news, I did my very first meet up with paid subscribers this week! I’m calling it a Sketch & Chat and am planning another one a month from now. It’s a small and sweet meeting online for an hour. You can sketch if you want, I must admit last time I drew very little because I was having too much fun chatting.
Much to my delight, fellow cartoonist Margreet de Heer joined in and told us a bit about her process while I was having zero success in sharing my iPad screen.
One of the things that came up, was using reference material. If you would like to draw things and you’re not sure what it looks like off the top of your head, please know that Google image search is your friend.
The next Sketch and Chat will be on April 18, 8PM CET
With love,
P.S. If you’d like to make your own Bokashi, what you need is ‘Bokashi bran’ or ‘Bokashi starter’. Not ‘Bokashi’ because that’s actually… Bokashi.
P.P.S If you have no idea what Bokashi is, you can read about it here.
Ha! I come up with comics that make me laugh all the time...until I pass it under the nose of my wife and she pulls me back into reality. Moral: We all need an editor to reel in our squirrelly ideas.
