Yesterday, as I was working on the cover of my graphic memoir, I kept getting these pesky error messages:
Rude, right? Here I am, just trying to do my job and those annoying things keep popping up! So, I’d empty my trash, close a few files and keep going. Until at some point, predictably, this happened:
There was no way around it, I’d have to dig through my stuff and clean up my hard drive. As I was doing that, this occurred to me: aren’t we doing exactly this at a much larger scale?
We’ve been ignoring alarming messages for decades. We’ve come to a point where people are throwing mashed potatoes at famous art, desperately trying to get through to us. Still some of us are responding the way I did when my software stopped working: offended, as if this is all completely unexpected.
But also, hopefully, finally ready to take action!
Deep down inside I knew my laptop was a mess and it feels good to finally do something, even if I’m only chipping away at a huge pile of junk. As a bonus, I dug up some cartoons that I actually like, even if I can’t get over how large I used to draw the heads.
With love,
I've done this same thing! I kept getting some weird error messages when I was working on a big project. I just clicked and closed them until the moment I could not save me big project and it was then that I wondered if that was what all those warnings were about! Sometimes hyper focus is my superpower and sometimes it's my kryptonite.
🎯!! And... The “shit” computer detail 💩 because it gave you shit... 🤣🤣👏👏👏
